with your hard eye, you steal me from sleeping
invite me with flailing green limbs, dark green
a whole summer's worth of green
laid into your favorite fingers
someone lingers
eyes unhardened by golden dawn
on her golden throne, seated, waiting
treating leaves with contempt and persuading them
to defect to her cold golden empire
I tire
of the wind's pleas and fling open my windows
eyes open to wind eyes, oh wind, oh wind, I
want to be the breeze and sing open blue sky
away with damp groggy clouds
some foggy shrouds
close the sun's eye, you steal her from keeping
amber traitors, chaff for the winnow
emerald empire keen in the window
green in the wind eyes skinned
oh wind
